Given the detrimental effects of cigarettes and the medical and financial burden it places on our communities, BAPS Charities stands with the White House and supports the FDA’s proposed rule of prohibiting menthol as a characterizing flavor in cigarettes. By increasing the chances that current smokers quit and reducing youth initiation, this proposed rule has the potential to significantly improve the health of our communities, both now and for generations to come.
BAPS Charities is a global charity rooted in volunteerism and the selfless service of communities around the world. Our efforts focus on health awareness, education, humanitarian relief, environmental protection and preservation, and community empowerment. From walkathons that raise funds for local communities to support humanitarian relief in times of need, from community health fairs to sustaining hospitals and schools in developing countries, BAPS Charities strives to improve the overall health of our communities around the world. In the United States, our health and wellness initiatives include providing preventative care through health fairs, promoting awareness about public health issues and educating communities about the role of environmental factors that contribute to our well-being.
